El Camino - The Way
Operation Restoration's boys' home is situated about 35 kms outside of Santa Cruz in the village of Puerto Rico. The aim of the home is to take in teenagers coming off the streets through the work of the First Contacts team and to give them the opportunity to get to know God and enter into his plans for their lives. The program aims to involve the boys in the general running of the home and to prepare them to be able to face life's challenges when they leave. Activities include cleaning, cooking, working in the fields, studying, sports & devotional times. A number of the boys have now been off the streets for a long time and so we hope that soon we will be able to open a 2nd stage home which will be more focused on their needs rather than the needs of those only just leaving the streets.    
We have now had 5 boys graduate from high school and leave El Camino moving on to a final stage reintegration home where they are helped to continue studying at university level and/ or find work.
